1. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE "TEST"
On Thursday I will post a link to the "test". Remember this test is a self-evaluation test.
-Time to start: 12:30. Time to finish: 13:30. (only grammar and vocabulary, there will be no reading or listening)
When you finish the test, you must click on "Terminado" and then, "Comprobar mis respuestas".
a-Take a photo of the result you get. (first thing to do, just in case)
b-Check your answers (I will send you the answers later, as well).
c-Share the photo with me via Google Drive (remember, the folder I sent you; I have not received any news from a couple of people about whether you have received the folder or not).  If you are not able to do so, send the photo to my email address.
d-I will post the solutions in "Teleformación" the following day.

READ CAREFULLY:

1. Very important: La semana pasada os envié una carpeta con vuestro nombre. En esta carpeta iréis guardando vuestro trabajo. De esta manera estará clasificada. Debéis leer bien las instrucciones que he escrito en la carpeta "Teleformación" o "Periodo Extraordinario" (no sé con qué nombre os lo ha compartido Marisi) para saber qué hacer con esa carpeta que os he enviado yo. Hay algunos alumnos que me han rechazado el correo. En ese documento digo qué alumnos son. Quizá haya ido a Spam. Por favor, comprobadlo.

1. How long is the system?  600 meters  How deep is the skirt? 3 meters
2. Can the cleanup barrier affect marine life? Why? No, because the skirt creates a flow underneath and the marine life can pass beneath it.
3 How does the cleanup system work? 
a. The buoy prevents PLASTIC from FLOWING OVER IT and the skirt prevents SMALLER PARTICLES FROM ESCAPING UNDERNEATH.
b. The system is operated by WIND, CURRENTS, and WAVES.
c. Both plastic and the system are CARRIED by THE CURRENT.
4. Why does the system move faster than plastic? What is the result?

BECAUSE THE WIND AND WAVES CAN ONLY PROPEL THE SYSTEM, NOT THE PLASTIC5. How does the system adopt a U-shape? BECAUSE THE CURRENT APPLIES PRESSURE ON THE SKIRT. What is the result? PLASTIC IS CONCENTRATED IN THE CENTER.
6. The WIND helps the system change direction and takes it to THE AREAS WITH THE HIGHEST PLASTIC CONCENTRATION.
7. How is the system's position known?
THANKS TO SATELLITE ANTENNAS.8. How is plastic removed from the system? A VESSELS COMES REGULARLY AND TAKES OUT THE PLASTIC. What do they do with that plastic? THIS PLASTIC IS RECYCLED INTO NEW ITEMS.

Wednesday 18th March

Good morning
-Thank you for your patience. We are ALL working hard (I hope!). At least I am. Google Drive is "driving" me mad so I have decided to communicate with you through the blog

-Remember the new gmail account (See Google Drive) for your assignments. You will have to send me some assignment only if I ask you to. As for all the homework, just correct with the answers provided. Use a red pen for correction, please.
There shouldn't be any problem with vocabulary. Please, use a dictionary and note down the meaning of any new word.

Suggestion
In the future you could use hangouts while you are doing your activities, especially for grammar.
This way you can help each other. Let me know if you are doing so.

Work for today
1. Correct the vocabulary exercises. (See screenshots in the padlet)
2. Complete the new assignment. I´ll post the answers on Tursday..

With the opinion essay, we have finished Unit 5. It is time to start a new unit, “Saving our planet” 
Let’s start with the easiest bit: vocabulary.
Go to Student's Book, page 74: Read the environmental experts’ comments and do
exercises 1, 2 and 3.
Then, go to your workbook p. 48 and do activities 1, 2 and 3.
