writing an introduction: Examples

READ THE FOLLOWING INTRODUCTIONS. AS YOU CAN SEE, THEY ARE DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS:

-General statement.
-Opinion.
  1. Mobile phones at school.
Nowadays more and more students bring their mobile phones to school. While I believe that students should carry mobile phones in case of an emergency, I am strongly opposed to phones being used at school, particularly in the classroom.
  1. Are video games a good way to keep fit?
Nowadays, many teenagers have got video consoles at home and they often like playing active video games. In my opinion,These are good for you for a number of reasons.

3. Children under 16 shouldn’t be allowed to have mobile phones. They are a distraction from studies and an impediment to social interaction.” Discuss.
These days it is difficult to think of a world without mobile phones. Many people have more than one and some people spend half their lives on the phone. It is also common to see more and more younger children with mobile phones. Some (people) might find this a worrying trend but in my opinion it is not more than a consequence of modern society’s obsession with technology. Yet, I think that there should be an age limit for owing a mobile.

4. Do you think that medical marijuana should be legal?
Medical scientists and doctors in some countries have recently discovered that marijuana, an illegal drug, is an effective medicine for severely ill patients who cannot get relief from their usual prescription drugs. In my opinion, marijuana should be legal for medical uses because it can improve the quality of life for some people with serious illnesses.
